EXTREME DISABILITY IN CHAKWAL

Our first project is going to be on exploring the causes and social impacts of disability cases in District Chakwal and the surrounding population. Chakwal is the most Rural District in whole of Pakistan. Its 87% population lives in small villages all over the rural area of the district whereas only 13% are living in Urban areas. The Urban areas comprising Chakwal city and other such Big Towns are not a city in real terms. These are Big Towns. We shall be partnering with Corporate Health Care sector as well public sector stake holders to do detailed research for the real and basic causes of this EXTREME Disability in District Chakwal. According to 1989 Government of Pakistan censes 8%population of district Chakwal had been found in various types of Disabilities. This is an alarming figure which need to be checked and some preventive measures are required to be taken on part of civil society and the government of Pakistan.
