Nursing Homes
NURSING HOMES – A LIFELINE FOR RURAL PATIENTS IN URBAN HOSPITALS
Every day, patients from remote rural areas travel long distances to seek treatment at tertiary care hospitals in major cities. Unfortunately, when these patients—often from underprivileged backgrounds—are not admitted immediately, they are left with no place to stay. Lacking shelter and support, many are forced to return to their distant villages, often missing out on critical treatment.
BIN QUTAB FOUNDATION (BQF) HAS RECOGNIZED THIS URGENT GAP AND IS INTRODUCING A THOUGHTFUL SOLUTION:
We plan to establish Nursing Homes in suburban areas and near major tertiary care hospitals in big cities.
These facilities will provide temporary shelter, nursing care, and basic support to patients who are awaiting admission or further consultation. Importantly, we understand that patients from rural areas are rarely alone—they are usually accompanied by 2–3 family members, who also need a safe place to stay. Our Nursing Homes will offer accommodation and care for both patients and their attendants, ensuring they are not left vulnerable in unfamiliar urban environments.
This initiative reflects BQF’s continued commitment to bridging the urban-rural healthcare divide—by offering dignity, comfort, and hope to those who need it most.
Volunteers Programme – Empowering Rural Change from Within
Volunteers are the backbone of any impactful civil society organization, and at Bin Qutab Foundation (BQF), they are central to our mission of transforming healthcare in rural Pakistan.
Given the vast and scattered geography of rural communities, along with limited access to reliable medical knowledge, the role of trained, community-based volunteers becomes indispensable. In many villages, healthcare understanding is shaped by unqualified practitioners (quacks), leading to misinformation and delayed treatment.
To address this, BQF trains both male and female volunteers to serve as Community Health Mobilizers across our Begum Noor Memorial Hospitals (BNMH) Network. These volunteers become trusted liaisons between the healthcare system and rural populations, promoting awareness, identifying needs, and delivering meaningful support on the ground.
Community Support Programme – Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities
Our upcoming Community Support Programme will deploy trained volunteer teams with a focus on:
Community Outreach
Engaging directly with rural families to understand their challenges and build trust.
Data Collection & Digital Reporting
Each volunteer will be equipped with a dedicated BQF mobile app to collect real-time data on individuals and families requiring urgent support. This ensures timely intervention and resource allocation.
Problem-Solving in Collaboration with Donors & Partners
VOLUNTEERS WILL HELP BRIDGE COMMUNITY NEEDS WITH BQF’S RESOURCES AND THOSE OF OUR COLLABORATORS.
Data Collected Will Help Identify and Support:
Patients with Chronic Illness, Disabilities, or Addictions
Individuals in need of medical care, rehabilitation, or palliative care.
BQF will support their treatment through the Sehat Sahulat Card, or direct financial assistance via our donor network.
Special Needs Individuals
Enrolled at Rubina Rehabilitation Centre at BNMH for therapy, surgeries, or assistive support.
Elderly Persons, Widows & Orphans
Identifying vulnerable individuals who lack family support due to extreme poverty.
BQF plans to establish dedicated Male and Female Residential Blocks to ensure their dignified care and medical treatment.
Skilled Individuals in Need of Business Startups
Identifying rural artisans, professionals, and technicians who need help launching SMEs or micro-enterprises, with the potential to create employment in their communities.
Talented Students & Youth
Supporting deserving students who require scholarships for local or international education.
Urban-Based Natives of Rural Villages
Connecting successful individuals who originated from these villages and are now settled in cities.
Encouraging them to give back by sponsoring projects in their native communities.
Local Public & Private Organizations
Mapping active organizations already working in rural welfare.
BQF aims to collaborate and synergize efforts with them for greater collective impact.
A Call to Action
At BQF, we believe change begins with empowered individuals. Our Volunteer Programme is more than just outreach—it is a movement to uplift communities from within, by those who know them best.
Join us. Mobilize with us. Heal with us.
